Afghanistan: US airlifts close to 20,000 people out of Kabul

According to a NATO official, more than 18,000 people have been flown out of Kabul since the Taliban took over Afghanistan’s capital.

However, the US has struggled with the airlift of Afghans despite the fact that there has been plans to redouble evacuation efforts as criticism from other world leaders continue to pour in.

The Afghan president who has since fled to a different country said that the speed at which the Taliban militants took over government was unprecedented.

The conquering of Afghanistan by the Taliban happens just when the Unites States and other foreign troops withdrew from the country, after having fought hard to hold its forth for the past 20 years.

The Taliban leaders are now calling on the Imams as the first Friday payers since their take over draws close, to persuade the people not the leave the country, as there has been a massive exodus of its citizens and other nationals out of the country amidst the chaos.

Taliban is on the move to start establishing emirates and to govern the country with strict Islamic laws.
