Lisa Jackson, who is the company’s president of environment, policy, and social initiatives had explained during the apple event that in the quest for carbon neutrality and waste reduction apple would be to no longer include USB power adapters or even the headphones with any purchase of the upcoming iPhone 12.
Instead, a USB-C with lightning cable which can be pluged into most of Apples laptop power adapters will be included with the iPhone 12.
However, if you don’t like this new set up then you can plug your iPhone 12 directly into the wall by purchasing a separate USB-C power adapter.
According to Jackson, withholding those two items from the iPhone 12’s box will hep reduce that size of its packaging thereby increasing the packing quantity on a shipping pallet by 70%.
She also noted that the shift will cut over 2 million metric tons of carbon emissions annually—the equivalent of taking 450,000 vehicles off the road.
The iPhone 12 is also said to be 5G-ready, this means that you’ll be able to connect to next-gen internet networks from your iPhone for the very first time.
iPhone 12 Pro models feature a new design and edge-to-edge Super Retina XDR displays, which is said to be the largest ever on an iPhone and it is protected by the all-new Ceramic Shield front cover, which provides the biggest jump in durability ever on iPhone.
