Former Konga CEO Nick Imudia commits suicide in his Lagos apartment
Nick Imudia, the former CEO of Konga e-commerce company, died by suicide on June 25 in his apartment in Lagos, Nigeria. Imudia, who was currently serving as the CEO of D.light, a leading solar energy solutions provider, reportedly jumped from a multi-story building
The Lagos police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the state criminal investigation department (SCID) has launched an investigation into Imudia’s death. Prior to his role at Konga from 2018 to 2022, Imudia held senior positions at TCL/Alcatel as a regional director and at Microsoft as a general manager for West and Central Africa.
Tayo Oviosu, the founder of Paga, expressed his condolences to Imudia’s family and the D.light team, stating that he recently met Imudia at a retreat with other CEOs and found him to be a “lovely human and leader”. Oviosu said he is saddened by Imudia’s passing.
