Jana Duggar Marries Stephen Wissmann in Elegant Arkansas Wedding

Jana Duggar, the eldest daughter of the Duggar family from the reality TV shows “19 Kids and Counting” and “Counting On”, married Stephen Wissmann in a beautiful ceremony in Prairie Grove, Arkansas on August 15, 2024. The couple exchanged vows in front of 500 guests at The Grand at Willow Springs in a “classic and elegant” wedding.

Jana, 34, had dreamed of this day for years and expressed her excitement leading up to the wedding, saying “For me, it felt like, ‘Okay, it’s never coming.’ But now it’s starting to sink in.

Reality is starting to set in. And I’m like, ‘Wow, this truly is something that I’ve dreamed of.’ And just to see it coming about is incredible and kind of hard to believe. It’s a dream come true.”

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, Jim Bob Duggar, as she wore an off-the-shoulder ivory satin ball gown that she described as “classy and a bit like a princess”.

Jana’s sister, Jessa Duggar Seewald, served as the maid of honor, while her sisters Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johannah Duggar, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, Jordyn Duggar, and sister-in-law Abbie Duggar were bridesmaids.

Stephen Wissmann, 31, is one of 13 siblings and works in the irrigation system installation business along with sandblasting and painting.

The couple had briefly dated a few years ago before reconnecting earlier this year. Jana’s brother, Jeremiah Duggar, is married to Stephen’s sister, Hannah Wissmann.

Despite her younger siblings getting married in their early 20s, Jana, being the oldest, had to wait a bit longer for her dream to come true. “I’ve tried to look at the positive, yet you long for that person, that someone that you can spend life with. It has been hard, but it has been good and God’s taught me a lot through it all,” she shared.

Now as newlyweds, Jana plans to move to Nebraska to live with Stephen in the house they have been fixing up together.

As she reflects on her journey, Jana says her faith has always been her guide. “I haven’t always understood what the bigger picture is, but I know that God knows what is best for all of us. And so for me, it’s getting married later. Each of our stories will be written differently. If we were all the exact same, it would be a boring life. So I think it’s neat how God orchestrates.”
