Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X is a young and famous American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He rose to prominence with the release of his country rap single “Old Town Road”, which first achieved viral popularity in early 2019 before climbing the music charts internationally and becoming a number-one hit in multiple countries. Billy Ray Cyrus a Country music star was a featured vocalist in the remix of “Old Town Road” in April of 2019.
Lil Nas X has released several singles since then, including “Panini” in June 2019 and “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” in March 2021.
He is currently working on his debut album, which he revealed was “almost finished” in July 2020, as well as a mixtape.
In June 2019, Lil Nas X came out as gay to his family and fans, despite uncertainty about how his fans would react. He has since become an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
Lil Nas X has also been involved in legal disputes. In July 2019, he was sued by The Music Force for copyright infringement over his independently released single “Carry On”.
The outcome of the lawsuit is unclear. Recently, Lil Nas X posted a screenshot of Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do For Love” to his Instagram Story with the caption “mfer sued the hell outta me but he got down on this”.
On December 29th, 2021, Lil Nas X debuted a new look with locs on Twitter and Instagram, prompting comparisons to Memphis Grizzlies All-Star point guard Ja Morant.
Later that day, he formally debuted the look on stage at the Falls Festival Melbourne at Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, Australia.
