What is Google Podcast?

Google Podcasts is a simple-design podcast app that was previously known as Google Play Podcast.

It is a podcasting app released by Google on June 18, 2018.

The Google Podcast is a free app that is available on both Android and iOS, and it is also available as a web version.

The app is well integrated with the Google Assistant and Google Home; however, the design is so simple and easy to use that anyone can easily get started on it in no time.

Even though there are many other podcast apps for Android and iOS, the Google podcast app is very efficient and liked by many, especially after it was redesigned using the Google Material Theme.

The app is very efficient in aggregating different podcasts because of the AI integration that Google is using to improve the listening experience.

How to use the Google podcast

The app interface is very much the same with that of Android and iOS and the web version is at podcasts.google.com.

When you access the app for the first time, all you will see are the Home, Explore, and Activity tabs.

Further, you will be visibly prompted to add any of your favorite podcasts, and after listening to different podcasts, your page will immediately transform to display more related recommendations.

In the explore section, you will find a search bar and tabs for different podcast categories such as news, technology, comedy, and others.

In the activity section, you will find your queued-up podcasts and the ones you have downloaded for offline listening, as well as your subscription and history.

 Google Podcasts on Android and iOS

On the web, you’ll see a list of the top podcasts by category, with a search bar at the top.

Depending on whatever podcast you have an interest in, all you have to do is search for it or simply tap on it if it is already recommended, and then choose from a list of the episodes.

When you are on the episode description page, you can either play the episode, download it, or mark it as played.

If you like the podcast and want to subscribe to it, just go to the podcasts page and tap on subscribe, and you can also unsubscribe at any time from the pop-up menu.
