The Epic Games and App Store Fortnite removal trial will not hold until next year. But,
According to Bloomberg, a federal judge in Oakland, California, on Friday rejected Epic’s bid for a preliminary injunction that would have required Apple to reinstate the battle royale video game in the App Store and also allowed Epic Games to use its own payment option.
However, the US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez was in favour of an injunction that stops Apple from taking action against Unreal Engine.
Earlier on Apple and Google removed Epic Games Fortnite from their App Store and Play Store respectively because the game developer had included a direct payment methods that didn’t use their payment systems.
Epic Games had sued the companies claiming that they were exercising monopolistic power in the app sector and hindering others from surviving in the space.
