Man hit by Banshee Roller Coaster at Kings Island
A guest at Kings Island amusement park in Ohio was critically hurt after being struck by the Banshee roller coaster on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred at around 8:00 p.m. near the world’s longest steel inverted roller coaster, which travels at speeds of up to 68 mph and stands 167 feet tall.
According to Kings Island officials, the man, who is 38 years old, entered a restricted and fenced area of the Banshee roller coaster and is believed to have been struck by the ride.
First responders found him inside the restricted area with a critical injury and transported him to West Chester Hospital before airlifting him to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for further treatment.
The Banshee roller coaster was shut down while local authorities and park personnel conducted an investigation into the incident. Kings Island officials emphasized that their focus remains on the welfare of the guest and his family.
