Margaret Cushing “Meg” Whitman was born on August 4, 1956, in Cold Spring Harbor, New York, USA. She grew up in an affluent household with parents Margaret and Hendricks Hallett Whitman Jr., who worked as a Wall Street executive. Whitman attended Cold Spring Harbor High School and showed early signs of leadership and ambition.

Whitman pursued her undergraduate studies at Princeton University, where she majored in economics.
