Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to donate $70m for COVID-19 vaccine

The Microsoft Billionaire Bill Gates and his wife Melinda Gates has recently said that they will be donating $70m towards the advancement of the COVID-19 vaccine.

This donation will be made through their foundation; Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

According to Melinda “COVID-19 anywhere is COVID-19 everywhere, that is why we have to ensure that everyone gets equal access to tests, drugs, and vaccines when they are available – no matter where you live in the world.”

“Our pledge today, alongside the generous commitments made by France, the European Commission, and Spain, means we are getting closer to having the resources needed to help the world fight this virus,” she added. “

However, she noted that even with the donation and many more made by France, the European Commission and Spain that “… we still have a long way to go.”

Bill Gates and his wife through their foundation has done a lot in Medicare especially in poor and rural communities in Africa as they have continued to fight and find vaccines and cure for many illnesses.

Polio and Maleria has been well enough subdued through their efforts in supporting government’s with Polio vaccines and Maleria prevention resources and innovations.
