The 2020 Billboard Music Award winner for Top New Artist in her wisdom refused to engage directly with a Body-shaming troll or her fans.
Billie EIlish rather shared a TikTok video of YouTuber Chizi Duru on her Instagram Story talking about the need to “normalize real bodies” because “guts are normal” and “boobs sag.”
Eilish also shared a red-hued photograph of herself with the inquisitive caption “do you really wanna go back in time?”
The five-time Grammy Award winner has always frowned at body shaming, that’s why she explained one time in a Calvin Klein advertisement that the reason why she wears oversized cloths was because “nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath”
She had gone further to explain, “Nobody can be like, ‘she’s slim-thick,’ ‘she’s not slim-thick,’ ‘she’s got a flat ass,’ ‘she’s got a fat ass.’ No one can say any of that because they don’t know.”
“We make assumptions about people based on their size. We decide who they are. We decide what they’re worth,” she says in the film. “If I wear more, if I wear less — who decides what that makes me? What that means? Is my value based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?”
However, her fans have refused to be quite as they have been taaking it out on the troll
Why do people feel it's so necessary to judge one and another. Billie Eilish can do whatever the fuck she wants. She doesn't have to conform to your expectations just because you may or may not like her body.— James McKenzie (@mckeenziiee) October 14, 2020
Billie Eilish is beautiful! PLEASE, do not body shame her, or anyone for that matter. Body shaming is not “news” or “gossip” it’s HARMFUL and UNACCEPTABLE.
