Trump administration has approved the current TikTok’s deal with Oracle and Walmart, for the company to host the TikTok app from US servers and this delayed the immediate TikTok ban.

ByteDance which is the parent company of the TikTok app in the current deal has decided to create a new company that will be based in the US and it is called TikTok Global, this will be the channel through which the US version of the app will be operated from to ensure compliance with security requirement, it is because of this arrangement that supposed ban was delayed until midnight the 27th of September.

Good news now is that in court yesterday, TikTok argued that the ban was ‘arbitrary and capricious, and would undermine data security’ of its existing 100 million users in the US alone if the security updates for the app is blocked and the court agreed with with its arguments and issued an injunction preventing the implementation of the TikTok app ban.

The TikTok’s attorney said that if the ban goes through and if the app disappears from the app stores, it will be devastating with respect to users, content creators and it would damage its reputation with advertisers.

TikTok as we know it today, is one of the fastest growing apps in the world.

However, on the government’s side the Commerce Department had said in a statement concerning the court’s decision to stop the ban that “The government will comply with the injunction and has taken immediate steps to do so, but intends to vigorously defend the [President Trump’s executive order] and the Secretary’s implementation efforts from legal challenges,”
