Elon Musk announced on his social media platform X that xAI’s latest Grok-1.5 chatbot will be released next week. “Grok 2 should surpass current AI on all metrics. In training now,” Musk added.

xAI stated in a Thursday statement that Grok-1.5, an upgraded version of its chatbot Grok, will soon be accessible to early testers and existing Grok users on X.

Earlier this month, Musk revealed plans to open-source Grok, following a lawsuit against Microsoft-backed OpenAI, which he accused of straying from its original mission towards a for-profit model. Musk launched xAI last year, aiming to rival OpenAI and Alphabet’s Google.
