Satya Narayana Nadella also simply Satya Nadella was born on August 19, 1967, in Hyderabad, India. He grew up in a well-educated family, with his father being a civil servant for the Indian Administrative Service. Nadella completed his schooling at Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet. From an early age, he showed a keen interest in technology and computer science.

In 1988, Nadella earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology. He then moved to the United States to pursue higher education, obtaining a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 1990.

He furthered his education by earning a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1996.

Nadella began his career at Sun Microsystems, where he worked on the development of technology for the company’s interactive television efforts. In 1992, he joined Microsoft, initially in the Windows Developer Relations group. Over the years, he held various positions within the company, including Senior Vice President of Research and Development for the Online Services Division and Vice President of the Business Division.

In 2014, Satya Nadella was appointed as the third CEO of Microsoft, succeeding Steve Ballmer. Under his leadership, Microsoft underwent significant transformations, focusing more on cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies. Nadella played a crucial role in reshaping Microsoft’s corporate culture, emphasizing empathy, collaboration, and innovation.

One of Nadella’s notable achievements as CEO was the acquisition of LinkedIn in 2016, the largest acquisition in Microsoft’s history at the time. He also oversaw the successful integration of GitHub, a leading software development platform, into Microsoft’s ecosystem. 

Throughout his tenure, Nadella emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. He championed initiatives to increase the representation of women and minorities in the technology industry and within Microsoft itself.

Nadella’s leadership style and strategic vision revitalized Microsoft, leading to significant growth and increased market value. Under his guidance, Microsoft became one of the most valuable companies in the world, surpassing $1 trillion in market capitalization in 2019.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Nadella is known for his philanthropic efforts. He and his wife, Anu Nadella, are active supporters of various charitable causes, particularly those related to education and healthcare.
